We worry about failing, not being perfect enough that we don’t allow ourselves to believe in – or even worst, dare to follow those dreams. That’s why we try to “dress rehearse” tragedy to feel better prepared.Īnd the thing is, we carry that same filter into our dreams and goals as well. We’re so afraid that if we let ourselves feel joy, something will come and take that away from us and we’ll be hit with pain, trauma, and loss. And usually it’s for the scary stuff…Because let’s be honest, that’s an easier place to go than a happy place for an anxious kid. ![]() I cared too much, worried about what could happen.
